I'm in the final stretch of compiling and drawing for a really fun book project! You'll be able to draw right in the book while expanding your visual vocabulary through an improvisational list-writing and drawing exercise. I have 12 amazing contributors who will be announced soon. Details to come! In the meantime, here are a few of my little doodles and drawings that will appear in the book.
Greenglass House Window Display
Back in August I had the opportunity to create a window display for Kate Milford's amazing book Greenglass House. I created the cover and interior images, and McNally Jackson, a wonderful independent bookstore in New York City asked me to represent the book in their window display. Up for any excuse for a trip to the big city, I flew in from Charleston and had to piece together the large display upon arrival. It was a worthwhile adventure, as I had the chance to meet the Editor, Art Director, and Designer on the project as well as the talented Kate herself!
Hello Charleston!
I live in a new place. It was relatively spontaneous and I am suddenly Southern. I am sold on residing seaside and have embraced beignets and barbeque, yet most of my new city is as yet unexplored. We migrated overnight mid-August, so have survived the thick Summer air, and are enjoying the wonders of a winter without the slush.
I left behind a job I loved, teaching students I loved, with people I loved. But it was time for an adventure. And so I am free once more, to develop my own projects, spin my own tales, and collaborate with other creative dreamers and doers.
If you are a creative with a project that might be a fit for my work, or are simply a creative working in Charleston, I'd love to chat.
